The short version
Can't Get Cover is an editorial information service. We publish free guides, and clearly-labelled advertisements on the site link to FCA-authorised partners who arrange insurance and finance. We don't advise on, arrange or sell anything ourselves, we can't guarantee any quote or approval, and the final decision on any policy or loan always sits with the insurer or lender. Use the site honestly, double-check anything important before acting on it, and you and we will get on fine.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
This website, cantgetcover.com ("the site"), is operated by a UK-based sole trader trading as Can't Get Cover ("we", "us"). We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner's Office under registration reference ZC201696.
These terms apply to your use of the site. By using the site you agree to them. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the site. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and forms part of these terms.
2. What this website is — and what it is not
The site publishes free editorial guides about UK car insurance and car finance for drivers who struggle to get cover or credit elsewhere, and it carries clearly-labelled advertisements for third-party partners who can quote for or arrange those products.
We are a publisher only. We are not an insurer, a broker or a lender. We do not advise on, arrange or sell insurance or credit in our own right, and we are not authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority. The partners who advertise on this site are FCA-authorised, and any policy or credit agreement you enter into is between you and them (or the insurer or lender they place you with) — never with us.
Nothing on this site is financial advice, and nothing on it is an offer of insurance or credit. We cannot guarantee that any partner will quote for you, that any quote will be cheaper than alternatives, or that any finance application will be approved. All car finance is subject to status and affordability checks carried out by the lender, and acceptance criteria belong to each insurer and lender — not to us.
3. Accuracy of the information we publish
We research our guides carefully and correct mistakes when we find them or when readers point them out. Even so, the information on this site is general in nature. It can go out of date as prices, products, rules and regulations change, and it can never account for your exact circumstances.
Always confirm the details that matter — cover levels, exclusions, eligibility, rates and fees — directly with the insurer, broker or lender before you buy or sign anything. If a page on this site and an official document ever disagree, trust the official document and tell us so we can fix the page.
4. Your responsibilities when using the site
Use the site lawfully and honestly. In particular:
- Be truthful with insurers and lenders. Much of this site exists to show you how to get cover without misrepresenting your details. Giving false information to an insurer or lender can void your policy, lead to refused claims, cancelled agreements and markers on industry databases, and may be a criminal offence. Nothing on this site should ever be read as encouragement to do it.
- Don't attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site.
- Don't scrape, harvest or republish the site's content at scale without our written permission.
- Don't use the site to send spam or anything unlawful.
5. Partner links and other websites
The site contains links to third-party websites — including our advertisers Quotezone (operated by Seopa Ltd) and our car finance broker partner, and reference sources such as GOV.UK and the FCA Register.
Once you leave this site, the third party's own terms and privacy policy apply. We don't control third-party websites and we aren't responsible for their content, their products or how they handle your data. We receive a fee when a visitor who clicks a labelled advertisement becomes a customer of a commercial partner — every arrangement is disclosed in full on our How We Make Money page, and a partner paying us never changes what we write about them.
6. Our content and intellectual property
The content on this site — text, design, graphics and logos — belongs to us or our licensors. You're welcome to read it, print it and share links to it for personal, non-commercial use. Please don't copy or republish substantial parts of it without asking us first at info@cantgetcover.com — we usually say yes to fair use with a credit and a link.
7. Liability
The site is provided "as is" and free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for loss or damage arising from your use of the site, from reliance on its content, or from products and services provided by third parties we link to. We don't guarantee the site will always be available or error-free.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for fraud — and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer, or any rights you have against an insurer, broker or lender under FCA rules or the Financial Ombudsman Service.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example when the site adds a new partner or feature. The date at the top of this page shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute connected with them — although if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also be able to bring proceedings where you live.
